The Sanctuary

Welcome to The Sanctuary, Lake Anna's only modern minimal Nordic lake house. Built of glass, concrete, steel, and western red cedar, this 8-bedroom retreat sleeps 25 across a 6, 800 sq ft main house and private garage apartment. A cantilevered great room floats over the waterfront edge. Swim the heated and chilled 30′ pool (seasonal), train in the fully equipped gym, warm-up in the traditional indoor cedar sauna, then end the day on the sunset patio, or private 40’ dock. The cantilevered great room hangs over the waterfront edge with glass on three sides, anchored by clean Scandinavian lines and gallery-style art throughout. The chef's kitchen pairs warm wood cabinetry with stone counters and a long island, open to a dining area framed by a soaring A-frame wall of glass. A sculptural gold spiral staircase leads to the library bedroom. The main staircase leads to the loft and loft bedrooms. 30-foot seasonal pool with tanning ledge, heated and chilled so the water is right whether it's a cool evening or a sunny summer day (open Memorial Day through October 1) Fully equipped gym with squat rack, free weights, and machines Putting green and turf play areas with ping-pong and lawn games Theater and game room with 100-inch screen, Dolby Atmos surround sound, and poker table Primary Suite: king bed, ensuite with soaking tub, double shower, double vanity, heated smart bidet, and a towel warmer Bedroom: two queen beds with ensuite bath (only accessible via spiral staircase) Lounge: queen-and-twin bunk in a common area with its own hangout space (hall bath) Garage Apartment (separate building, soaring 25-foot ceilings) A private 40-foot dock with two slips with cleats (bring your own bumpers) (up to 30 ft and 25 ft), two kayaks, and two paddleboards. The shoreline path leads from the lawn to calm cove water on Lake Anna's public side. Three entertaining patios (one fully covered), outdoor dining with a grill, an outdoor shower, a fire pit, and a treetop balcony in the cedar canopy. Once you arrive, groceries and supplies are 10 to 15 minutes away in Mineral.
